Glow-in-the-dark algae
Some organisms can glow in the dark, examples are fire flies and some deep sea fish. This is called bioluminesence. Bioluminescent algae can easily be kept at home. They grow in sea water and only need light. If you shake them after sunset, they will emit a beautiful blue light. They are fun to have, and a very original gift!
